Description
Photographed April 2, 2020 on “Rock Star Ridge” at Snowbasin in Utah’s Wasatch Mountains.
This snowflake was captured on Rockstar Ridge, between the Deane’s and Janis’ runs, during an unusually cold morning for April. Convective showers kept light snowflakes falling from the sky, even as the sun was rising over the ridge. I was photographing the snowflake on the left, when the second snowflake landed perfectly beside it, “holding hands” with the first. It’s a beautiful scene and something that I’ll likely never see again.
